Janet Lynn Jones died after a long and courageous battle with cancer/leukemia at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday, January 26, 2018, at the age of 64.

Janet is survived by her loving spouse of 41 years, Joan Porter of Lascassas Tennessee, her sister Nancy Hansen of Las Vegas Nevada, six nieces and nephews, fifteen great nieces and nephews and countless friends, all of whom adored her.  She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Shirley Jones of Las Vegas Nevada, and her sister Linda Watson, of Murfreesboro Tennessee.

Janet was born on March 8, 1953 in Oak Park Illinois to John and Shirley Jones.  She was the youngest of three sisters. She met Joan Porter in 1977, and they were officially married in 2016.  They spent 28 years in Southern California, where Janet worked as a bookkeeper at the optometry office, before moving to Lascassas Tennessee in 2008 to be close to family.

Janet had a kind and generous soul and had a great love of all animals, big and small.  Janet's wishes were to be cremated and to have her ashes taken to Craig Road Pet Cemetery in Las Vegas Nevada where they can be placed with the ashes of her beloved pets.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to Jesse C.
