Janet "Jan" Carol Dempsey, age 71, of Tullahoma, TN went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 23, 2014. A native of Winchester, IN she was the daughter of the late, Alfred and Goldie Clara Roy Hilgenberg. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Fay Hilgenberg and Lois Bradburn; and two brothers, Jim and Gene Hilgenberg. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2:00PM at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Brother Ron Caldwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery. Ms. Dempsey is survived by her son, Greg Dempsey and his wife Kathy of La Vergne, TN; grandson, Cameron Dempsey of Cookeville, TN; her sister, Dorothy Clements and her husband Chuck of Munice, IN; her brother, Bob Hilgenberg and his wife Betsy of Jacksonville, FL and three nieces and six nephews. Ms. Dempsey was of the Southern Baptist faith and was a retired dispatcher with Nashville Metro Police Department. She loved going to church and playing the piano. She had a passion for taking photographs and enjoyed watching NFL football games. Ms. Dempsey was also a notary public. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
