Janet Caffey

Janet Marie Medlock Caffey closed her eyes for the last time on earth and immediately opened them in eternity with her Jesus on Monday, October 19, 2026. She was 79, born and raised in Murfreesboro, and was proud to be part of the Central High School class of 1965.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Edward Caffey, and her parents, Clint Sr. and Annie Medlock Caffey.

Her first love was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and she exemplified that to everyone around her. Janet was the life of the party, sharing smiles and hugs with everyone. She focused her many talents on sewing quilts while going thru brain cancer treatments in 2002.

Janet leaves behind her children, Carrie Caffey Perkins (Marty) and Jason Caffey (Lynne), and grandchildren, Mady Perkins, Ronnie, Raine, Trevor, Rene, and Allie.

She will be missed by her sister, Joyce Medlock, and brothers, Clint Medlock (Karol) and Mike Medlock (Mary), all who loved her dearly. She also leaves behind a host of Caffey and Wallace in-laws and even more nieces and nephews.

Janet started her professional career at State Farm and then quickly went to work at the Corps of Engineers where she spent the large majority of her career as one of the few female GS13s. She was one of the original members of Believers Chapel and in her later years she spent time worshipping at New Vision.

Janet is being cremated and there will be no formal services at this time. A home going celebration will be held at a later date.
