James William Wood, III, age 69 of Murfreesboro, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Mr. Wood was born to the late James and Ruth Vance Wood of Murfreesboro. His grandparents were James and Rosa Wood of Almaville, TN; and Claude and Flora Vance of Murfreesboro, TN. Mr. Wood was a native of Murfreesboro and a 1965 graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School. He served as district manager of Canadaigna Wine Company. Mr. Wood enjoyed being in this industry for over 20 years. He was an active member of World Outreach Church and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Wood is survived by his wife, Karen Wilson Wood, daughter, Jennifer Anderson and her husband Pete, stepchildren, Wes Denny and his wife Lara, Jon Denny and Amanda Denny, two sisters, Susan Vanderpool and her husband Ed, Nancy Coleman and her husband Sam, grandchildren, Molly Kate, Kayla, Hannah, Harper and Hadley, niece and nephew, Caroline and Sam Barnes Coleman. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Bob Bush will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be made to World Outreach Church or the charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Wood.
