James A. Winsett, age 86 of Murfreesboro, died Monday at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. He was a native of Rutherford County and a son of the late Jonas Winsett and Cora Lee Hill Winsett. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Adele Demunbreum.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Virginia Jones Winsett; children, Debrah Culberson and husband Robert "Cub" of Murfreesboro, and Jonas Winsett of Smyrna; a sister, Dorlene Hart and husband Russell of Lewisburg; and a host of loving family and friends.

Mr. Winsett was a longtime member of Bellwood Baptist Church, a member of the Gideon's International Murfreesboro Camp; and he retired from Coca Cola and Murfreesboro Vending in 1996 after 39 years of service.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Bro. A.D. Reed officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
