James William Tomlinson

James William Tomlinson, age 26, of Smyrna, TN, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026, from injuries received from an automobile accident. He was born November 15, 1999, in Murfreesboro, TN to Jeffrey Tomlinson and Carol Hill Tomlinson.

James is survived by his parents, Jeffrey “Jeff” and Carol Hill Tomlinson of Smyrna, TN; sister, Hannah Hays and her husband Zach of Lascassas, TN; grandmother, Peggy Lukasick and her husband Robert of Satsuma, FL; nephew, Elijah Hays of Lascassas, TN; niece, Eleanor Hays of Lascassas, TN; aunts, Stacey Hill of Smyrna, TN, and Jennifer Randolph and her husband Chris of Murfreesboro, TN; and cousins, Amanda Pierce, Casey Comer, Taylor Randolph, and Parker Randolph.

James loved big and with his whole heart. His niece and nephew were the highlights of his heart.

James was a loyal friend and coworker at Ingrassia and Sons. He loved nature and hiking with his dog, Bailey.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Jefferson Springs Recreation Park, 7760 W. Jefferson Pike Smyrna, TN 37167. A private family burial will be held at Mapleview Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Tennessee Wildlife Foundation or the National Park Service in memory of James.
