James Weldon Westerfield, age 85, of Murfreesboro, TN died on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. A native of Butler County, KY he was preceded in death by his parents, James Oliver and Alva Fishburn Westerfield; three sisters; and a brother. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Dr. Tom Wallace will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Westerfield is survived by his children, Donovan Walton Westerfield and his wife Jonell of Alvaton, KY, Rhonda Mather of Bowling Green, KY, and Jason Wyatt Westerfield of Murfreesboro; sister, Katherine Brown of Quality, KY; brother, William "Tom" Westerfield and his wife Sandy of Cincinnati, OH; and sister, Sonya Stewart of Lexington, KY; three grandchildren, Michelle Hitchcock, James Ernest Westerfield, and Jason Wyatt Westerfield Jr.; four great grandchildren, Bayly, Matt, Preston, Lilly and soon expecting, Wyatt James. Mr. Westerfield was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church. He was a retired Division Quality Assurance Manager with Harman Automotive in Boliver, TN. Mr. Westerfield was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves. He was a fan of UK Basketball and loved playing golf. James T. Brown, Charles A. Brown, William D. Brown, Dwight Gardner, James E. Westerfield, and Jason W. Westerfield will serve as pallbearers. Memorials in memory of Mr. Westerfield can be made to Caris Hospice of Murfreesboro. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
