James Harlan Walker, age 77, formerly of Chicago, Ill. died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the V.A. Hospital in Murfreesboro. A native of Nashville, TN. he was the son of the late Marvin and Helen Wilson Walker. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Walker and two sisters, Anna Ruth Zering and Elizabeth Brindley. A graveside memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 1:00PM at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, TN. A military chaplain will officiate. An open house will be held after the service from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at David and Carol Walkers House. Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Doris Schuette Walker; sons and daughters in law, David (Carol) Walker, Brian Walker, Timmy (Billie) Walker, Paul Walker, Kyle (Missy) Walker and Jeff Walker; daughters and sons in law, Deborah (Jeff) Hitt, Kathy (Wally) Brakefield, and Lee Northcutt; 18 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; two brothers and a sister in law, Marvin Wilson Walker, and Thomas (Elaine) Walker and three special friends from Chicago, Christine, Mike and Ross. Mr. Walker was a Harness Racing Horse Trainer. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a photographer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the V.A.
