James Aubrey Thompson, age 90, of Murfreesboro, TN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. A native of Rutherford County, he was preceded in death by his parents, David Washington and Cassie Mae Benson Thompson; wife, Emma Leslie Duffett Thompson; son, David Thompson; brothers, Thomas Epps Thompson and David Thompson Sr.; and sister, Louise Coke. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pastor Earl Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Thompson is survived by his son, Jim Thompson and his wife Billie Jo of Murfreesboro; daughter, Leslie Sauer and her husband John of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Justin Sauer of Nashville, TN, and Lauren Steinbrecher and her husband Casey of Harrisonburg, VA; great grandchild, Luke David Steinbrecher of Harrisonburg, VA and two sisters, Naomi Lee and her husband John and family of Smyrna, TN; and Mary Ruth Hilliard and family of Murfreesboro. Mr. Thompson was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was a retired electrician with S&W Contracting. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials in memory of Mr. Thompson can be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
