Mr. James T. Smith, age 76, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Friday, August 12, 2016. He was born in Ripley, TN to the late Tillman and Roxana Smith. Mr. Smith was employed by Elkay Manufacturing in Oak Brook, IL as an electrician. He enjoyed fishing as much as he could. Mr. Smith was a faithful member of Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved his family and friends and never met a stranger.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 13 years, Joan Smith; four children, Jackie Haden and her husband Malcolm of Indianapolis, IN, Derrick Smith of Portland, OR, Keith Smith and his wife Valerie of Portland, OR, and Maurice Smith and his wife Nyjah of Indianapolis, IN; brother Billy Smith and his wife Paulette of Chicago, IL; sister, Dorothy Epps of Chicago, IL­; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two step-children, Jeanna Taylor of Murfreesboro and Alan Jones of Brooklyn, NY.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 3:00pm until 4:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 4:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
