James W. Smith, age 63, of Murfreesboro, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 6, 2016. A native and long-time resident of Greeley, CO he was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene V. Smith and Dorothy Jurgens Hamlett.

Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife, Joy Hill Smith; children, Cathy Smith of Murfreesboro, Izaac Smith and his wife Jennifer of San Antonio, TX, Patrick Hill and his wife Jennifer of Murfreesboro, and David Moore and his wife Rebecca of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Jazmin Smith, Alyssa Smith, Layla Hill, Dakota Smith, Zane Smith, and Garrett Hill; siblings, Shirley Smith of Lamar, CO, Suzanne Mueller of Greeley, CO, Jerry Smith of Scottsbluff, NE, and Rene Smith of WY; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Smith was a member of New Vision Baptist Church and was a retired Butcher with Monfort Meats. He enjoyed wood working, tinkering with lawnmowers and fishing. Mr. Smith was a jokester and was known to pull a prank or two. He loved to barbecue. Mr. Smith cherished his family and loved them very much.

Memorials in memory of Mr. Smith can be made to the American Lung Cancer Association.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at New Vision Baptist Church in the Worship Center.
