James H. Shelton, age 91 of Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015. He was a native of Morristown, TN and a son of the late Lon and Lou Vernie Shelton. He was also preceded by his wife Jessie Shelton; sons, Robert and Jerry Sneed; a grandson, Paul Sneed; sisters, Elsie and Ruby, and his brother, Bob.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Shelton of Ft. Worth, TX; a daughter, Sandra Tippit and husband JT of Murfreesboro; daughter in law, Rosie Sneed of Fairfield, CA; a sister, Naomi Webb of Morristown; grandchildren, Chris Sneed, Elizabeth Shelton, David Shelton, Chase Frazier and wife Felicia, Richard Tippit and Mitchell Tippit; a great grandchild, Jesse Frazier; and special friends, Ruby Garner and her children.

Mr. Shelton was a member of Southeast Baptist Church and a twenty-one year Air Force Veteran who served during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He later went on to retire from the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center.

Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 pm until the time of funeral services with military honors beginning at 6:00 pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
