James William Raymer passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 16, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Malugen and Joseph B. Raymer. Mr. Raymer is survived by his wife, Janice Adams-Raymer who was his true love, best friend, and companion for 28 happy and fun years traveling through life's journeys. He is also survived by stepson Carl Wright Adams of Brentwood; a brother Frank Raymer of Hendersonville; devoted sister and brother in law Sarah and Steve McNabb of Murfreesboro; nephews Steve Harrison, David Harrison, Cohn Raymer, Josh Raymer and nieces Gina Raymer Taylor and her husband Mike, Rebecca Hubbell, Stephanie Sadler, Amy and Amanda McNabb. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro. Rev. Mark Price will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 pm Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pallbearers will be Steve McNabb, Steve Harrison, David Harrison, Cohn Raymer, Drew Harrison, Johnny Lindhal, David Lynn Harrison, Johnny Hill, Jr., and Robert Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Fleming, Mike Taylor, Bobby Lovell, Bobby Bowling, Ray Gregg, and Richard Green. Mr. Raymer had a stellar career with State Industries manufacturing water heaters for 42 years and one year with AO Smith. His titles were Vice President of Purchasing of State Industries and President of Well Water Systems over seeing plants in Nashville and Charlotte, NC. Some of his accomplishments were being elected to the Board of State Industries. He was a member of American Supply Association, Water Systems Council, National Ground Water Association, and Ambassador of State Industries. His ability to oversee the company's purchasing operations of State Industries and Water Systems division was a testament to his management skills. Mr. Raymer retired from State Industries with many friends that were State employees, as well as suppliers and reps. He missed seeing them every day after retirement. He especially enjoyed the Titans team and tailgating for many years with dear friends. He loved his home in Florida and spent as much time there with all his Florida friends that time would allow. He never lost his appreciation of fine automobiles and his love for his yacht "Jim's Diamond" Special gratitude goes to the doctors and nurses of both the Vanderbilt Cancer Clinic and the Williamson County Hospital for their care, compassion, and kindness during Jim's illness.
