James Scott Murphy, age 49 of LaVergne died Saturday July 16, 2011 at his home. He was a native of Rutherford County and was a member of Miracle Baptist Church. Mr. Murphy was employed with Vought Aircraft. He is survived by his daughter, Alexanna Murphy of Smyrna; father, James C. Murphy of LaVergne; sister, Debbie Rideout and husband Rudy of Smyrna; brother, Mike Murphy and wife Ellen of LaVergne, Monty Murphy and wife Rhonda of Smyrna, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by his mother, Mai Montgomery Murphy who died in 2009. Funeral service will be 11:00AM Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna with Brother Carl Scarlett officiating.
