James Ray McCardell, age 41 of Readyville, died Sunday at Centennial Medical Center. He was a native of Abilene, TX and a son of Melvin Robert McCardell III and Glenda Jean McCardell who survive him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children Brittney McCardell, Destiny McCardell and James McCardell all of Murfreesboro; brothers and sisters Felicia Nash of Cisco, TX, Chris McCardell and Sheree McCardell both of Readyville, Mel McCardell IV, Michael McCardell and Joseph McCardell all of Murfreesboro. Before James lost his sight, he worked as a welder at his family's business, Mid-State Ornamental Iron Works. Visitation will be Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 5:00 until the time funeral services beginning at 7:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
