James Stanley Mason Jr, age 70, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at his home. Mr. Mason was a native of Manchester, TN and was the son of the late James S. and Bessie Powers Mason, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his son, Scott Mason; and sister, Phyllis Swann. Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pastor Michael James will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Mason is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janice Downing Mason; sons, Jamie Mason and his wife Ginny and Chad Mason and his wife Kerri both of Murfreesboro; brother, Joe Mason and sister, Cherry Russ both of Manchester; and three grandchildren, Claire, Sara Clarke, and Chapel Mason. Mr. Mason was a member of the Church of Christ and was the retired owner and operator of Stanley's Barber Shop in Smyrna, TN. Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
