JAMES HOWARD JONES, age 92, of Murfreesboro, Tn. died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at his home. He was born in Rutherford County and was the son of the late John Aubrey & Nina Youree Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Margaret Murray Jones; daughters, Margaret Carolyn Jones, Sara Ann Gannon and her husband, James, Nina Kate Endsley; sons, James H. (Jimmy) Jones, Jr. and his wife, Carole; Thomas Aubrey Jones and his wife Robin; brother John Edgar Jones and his wife, Margaret Lee; sisters, Irene Harrell and Susie Belle James all of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Tommy, Timmy and Terry Jones, Rachel Ann (Jeff) Teal, Nathan Davis Jones, Jeremy (Catrynia) Gannon, Kristi Gannon, and Craig Endsley; great grandchild, Nicole Jones. Funeral services 3:30 pm Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Jimmy Wright and Jimmy Carver officiating. Visitation with the family will be after 1:30 pm Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Dilton Cemetery. Mr. Jones was a member of the Rock Hill Church of Christ, retired employee of the Alvin C. York Veterans Hospital of Murfreesboro after 32 years of service. He was also a retired farmer and former employee of the Pure Milk Company of Murfreesboro. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the 69th Division, 273 Infantry, 369 Medic Battalion and received the European Theatre Ribbon, Three Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal and the European Shoulder Wreath for 100 days on the front line.
