James T. Jimmy Cogdill, Jr. age 56 formerly of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Thursday December 15, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jolynn Lawson Cogdill; parents Jim and Sarah Cogdill of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Jeffrey Cogdill and his wife Susie of Murfreesboro, TN and Jimmys beloved little dog, Cookie. Jimmy was a member of the Boy Scouts Troop 106 and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout in which he was very proud. He attended Mitchell Neilson Elementary, Central High School and was in the first graduating class of Oakland High School where he was a member of Phi Sigma Chi. Jimmy was in the US Air Force from 1973 to 1977 as an Air Traffic Controller. He was a graduate of Cameron University and received his Masters from DePaul University. Jimmy and his wife, was very active in PAWS and the Animal Humane Society. He was District Sales Manager with Centria Architectural Systems. After his retirement, Jimmy and his wife enjoyed family and extensive traveling. A Celebration of Life will be 6:00 PM Tuesday December 27, 2011 at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Murfreesboro, TN with Mike Bratton and Steve Plemmons officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until time of service. A memorial service will also be held for Jim on January 14, 2012 at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home in Naperville, IL.
