James A. (Jim) Elrod, age 70, of the Florence Community, died Monday at Middle Tn. Medical Center. Mr. Elrod was a native of Rutherford County and son of the late Harry M. and Lorene Nichols Elrod. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother Marion West will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Elrod is survived by his wife Lorene Black Elrod, daughters; Cindy (Brian) Williams of LaVergne and Suzanne (Brett) Kauffman of Lascassas, brothers; Ben (Shirley) Elrod of Rockvale and Donnie (Shelia) Elrod of Woodbury, and three grandchildren; Bailee Kauffman, Adam and Cade Willliams. Mr. Elrod was a member and elder of Florence Church of Christ. He was a retired Captain with the Murfreesboro Fire Department. He was a 1958 graduate of Murfreesboro CHS and was a member of the Florence Historical Society. He served in the Tennessee Army National Guard.
