James C. "Jim" Bynum, Jr. age 90 of Nashville died Saturday February 13, 2016 at St. Thomas West. Mr. Bynum was a native of Murfreesboro, and was son of the late James C. and Louise Grandy Bynum. He was also preceded in death by two sons, John Haynes Bynum and Jeffery Eugene Bynum; one brother, David S. Bynum, and sister, Mary B. Gunnselman.

Funeral services will be 1:00PM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Lane Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 11:00AM until 1:00PM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Bynum is survived by his wife, Jayne Haynes Bynum; son, James C. "Jim" Bynum III and wife Ellen of Donelson; daughter, Julie Thomas and husband Lane of Nashville. Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Bynum was a member of Otter Creek Church of Christ. He was a 1943 graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School and the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa. OK. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He received the Charles Taylor 50 years in Avation Maintence Award from the FAA in 1996. Mr. Bynum was a retired Pilot and Aircraft Technician.
