JAMES (JIM) HOUSTON JAMISON, SR., age 72, of Murfreesboro passed away, Saturday, April 18, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Rutherford County and was the son of the late James Edmon Jamison and Dora E. Jamison Jacobs. He was also preceded in death by his step father, Owen Jacobs, his grandparents, Thomas A. Jamison, Dora Jones Jamison, Jacob Ronald Barrett and Mattie Doak Barrett. He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Marlin Jamison; two daughters, Vicki Norton and her husband Russell and Gail Rowley and her husband, Brad; one son, Jim Jamison, Jr. and his wife Jennifer; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one sister, Deborah Jamison Tillery and her husband Howard; one niece and two great nieces; brother in law, Marvin Marlin. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. John UpChurch and Rev. Curt Wagoner officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4 to 8 pm Monday, April 20, 2009 with a Masonic Service at 7 pm. Mr. Jamison was owner of Jamison Steel Rule Die, Inc and life-long resident of Rutherford County. He was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church, member of the Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 18 F & A.M. and a member of the Moose Lodge # 645. Active pallbearers will be Seth Rowley, Matt Rowley, Tyler Norton, J. C. Alexander, Jimmy Johnson, Bill May, Jr. Morton, Rich Marlin and Pat Marlin. Mr. Jamison was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was a Tennessee Highway Patrolman before starting his business. Memorials in memory of Mr. Jamison may be made to Alive Hospice or Riverdale Baptist Church Building Fund.
