James David "Joe" Hoover, age 79 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Monday July 6, 2015. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Ephraim F. and Mary Jane Curlee Hoover, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Ephraim Hoover, Jr., and a sister, Joyce Bolinger. Mr. Hoover is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Mahaffey Hoover; son, Glenn Hoover of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Gayle Hoover Wright and her husband Nathan of Lascassas, TN; brother, Jerry Hoover and his wife Judy of Readyville, TN; sister, Nellie Hutchins of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Hannah Wright Dodd and her husband Bryson of Murfreesboro, TN, Katie-Beth Hoover of Murfreesboro, TN, and Misa Miyazato of Okinawa, Japan; sister-in-law, Elise Hoover of Milton, TN, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Nathan Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Hoover was a member of the Sharpesville Church of Christ and was a retired supervisor with HeatCraft. He was also a dedicated and avid supporter of the Kentucky Wildcats Basketball Team.
