James Edward Hefty, age 68 of Murfreesboro, died March 14, 2015 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. He was a native of Burlington, Wisconsin, a son of the late Peter and Sophia Mikula Hefty. He was also preceded by his wife, Jan Lemuell Hefty; brothers and sisters, Robert Hefty, Warren Hefty, Sr., Peter Hefty, Donald Hefty, Joyce Pellman, Sophia Phillips, Marilyn Ide, Gladys Cramer and John and Delores Hefty who died as infants. Mr. Hefty is survived by a daughter, Trisha Hefty; grandson, Dakota Hefty; a brother, Jerome Hefty, Sr. and his wife Jane; sisters, Margie Schoenberg and her husband Howard and Barbara Droge and her husband Galen; a god-daughter, Samantha Walters and her husband Ryan; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family. Mr. Hefty was a United States Army veteran and an auto body repairman. Burial with military honors will be 11:00 a.m, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
