JAMES A. (JAY) FRANKLIN age 55 of Smyrna, TN passed away Monday September 8, 2008. Born October 21, 1952, in Fort Myers Fl, Jay lived most of his adult life in Smyrna, TN. Jay worked for Noland Company in Nashville, TN for many years as a Sales Representative, after attending the OMore College of Design in Franklin, TN. During Jays tenure at Noland Company, he earned a number of designations including numerous design awards at several area Nashville Home & Remodeling Shows, in addition to an award for outstanding community service with the Nashville area Toys for Tots. Jays full of life energy and expression was always felt by those around him, and his greatest fulfillment in life was achieved by helping others in need. Jay was preceded in death by his Mother, Regina Draughon Franklin of Fort Myers, FL. Jay is survived by Partner in Life, John A. Cox of Smyrna, TN, Father, James A. Franklin, Jr. of Fort Myers, FL, Sisters, Denby Smothers of Sarasota, FL and Robin Holton of Fort Myers, FL. Jay is also survived by Nephews, Draughon Silcox, Christopher (Cripper ) Silcox, Tyler Silcox, and Doug Baillie. Niece, Megan Rollings, Grand-Nephews, Enniss Silcox, Colm Silcox, and Jack Silcox.
