JAMES (Bill) EDWARDS age 84 of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, January 4, 2009. A native of Westport, Tennessee he was the son of the late Gurthel and Hattie Lee Carey Edwards. He was also preceded in death by a son, Rev. Don Edwards. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rusty Edwards and Joe Vinson will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Edwards, sons, Rodney (Tricia) Edwards, Dale (Kim) Edwards, daughter-in-law, Joy Edwards all of Murfreesboro, brothers: Jerry Edwards of Steger, IL, Jessie Ray Edwards of Paris, TN, sisters, Olean Blount of Westport, TN, Iola Corbin of McKenzie, TN, Clarice Feazel of Belleville, IL, grandchildren, Andrea Edwards Argo, Robin Edwards Watkins, Nicole Edwards, Rusty Edwards, Jennifer Edwards, and Tyler Edwards, and great grandchildren, Isabel Watkins, Shelby Watkins, and Eli Argo. He was retired from Cargile Grain and a member of Southeast Baptist Church. He also served as a building superintendent at Maplewood Park Baptist in Cahokia, IL for 20 years and First Baptist Church, McKenzie for 18 years. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
