James Edward Woods

James (Jay) Edward Woods, age 84, died suddenly on August 30, 2026.

He was from Oak Ridge, TN and a faithful member, teacher and evangelist of the Church of God. He was a 60-year member of the IBEW local union 270 and worked closely with his wife, Donna Powers, in real estate and other business ventures. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Powers. He is survived by his son, Stephen Woods (Paula); grandson, Joshua Woods (Gloria); his great grandsons, Brady Woods and Damian Woods; and his brother, Chet Woods.

Graveside service will be on Friday, September 11, 2026, in the Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro, TN.
