James L. Davis, age 91 of Smyrna, TN, passed away Friday October 16, 2015. A native of Davidson County, he was the son of the late Sam and Lena Sullivan Davis. Mr. Davis was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie Taylor Davis, and several brothers and sisters. Mr. Davis is survived by his sons, Jim and Sam Davis both of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter, Pat Gundersen of Carmel, NY; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 noon at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Brother Ralph "Buddy" Neal will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with the family serving as pallbearers. Mr. Davis was a US Army veteran having served in the South Pacific during World War II.
