JAMES NORMAN CLIFT age 79 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Monday February 14, 2011. A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Jamie Dee and Catherine Wright Clift. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ladye Ruth Rodgers Williams Clift who died in 2006. Mr. Clift is survived by daughter, Lori Clift Griffith and husband Mark; son, James Anthony Williams and wife Debbie all of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Heather Williams Graves, Hunter Cole Williams, Katie Horn, and Robyn Griffith; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Faith Graves and Collin Scott Graves; sister, Kitty Falk of Wilmington, Delaware; and special friend, Betty Belew of Murfreesboro, TN. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Chaplain Don Doggett and Rev. Craig Martindale officiating. Graveside services will be 3:30 PM Sunday at Mars Hill Cemetery in Marshall County with military honors. Mr. Clift was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Murfreesboro, a US Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War, and was retired in sales with Boiler Supply Co. in Nashville. He was a Mason and Shriner and was a member of the Phoenix Lodge # 131 and the Al Menah Temple in Nashville. Pallbearers will be Hunter Williams, Brandon Graves, Mark Wilson, John Horn, Doug Doggett, and Lyle Lynch. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Lunn II, Jim Oakley, Bill Ellis and the Prime Timers at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Children Hospital or the Childrens Promise at Calvary Baptist Church.
