JAMES M. JIM BENSON, age 51, of Murfreesboro died Friday August 8, 2008. He was a native of Rockford, IL and the son of the late Melvin Lee Benson. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Jacob Armstrong and Rev. Michael OBannon will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. He is survived by his wife: Sandy Smith Benson, daughters: Kate and Kelley Benson of Murfreesboro, TN, mother: Ann M. Benson of Dunwoody, GA, brother: Scott Benson and his wife: Candy of Powder Springs, GA, sisters: Sharon Barrow and her husband: Brantley of Atlanta, GA, Lynne Hall of Athens, GA, nieces and nephews: Brant Barrow, Rebecca Barrow, Alex Hall, and Alanna Hall. Mr. Benson was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Director of Information Systems with Middle Tennessee Medical Center. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he lettered in Swimming. He was also a member of the Rutherford Society. Friends will serve as Pallbearers.
