Obituary

JAMES E. BEASLEY age 91 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Saturday October 2, 2010. A native of Robertson County, he was the son of the late Henry Taylor and Jessie Mae Parsons Beasley, Sr. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne Beasley, a son, James Adams Beasley and a brother, Henry Taylor Beasley, Jr. Mr. Beasley is survived by his wife of 67 years, Loraine Felts Beasley; daughter and son in law, Jana and Michael Astles of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Benjamin Felix Simmons and Stephanie Edwards and her husband Rev. Paul Edwards; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Lydia, and Hannah Edwards. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Paul Edwards and Dr. Michael Smith officiating. Graveside service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday at the Elmwood Cemetery in Springfield, TN with military honors. Mr. Beasley was a member of First Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, and a retired building materials salesman. He was a WW II and Korean War veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps and the U S Air Force as a pilot. Mr. Beasley was a 21 gallon blood donor to the American Red Cross and an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the American Red Cross in memory of Mr. Beasley. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
