James Gary "Batman" Batson , age 64 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Saturday September 9, 2017. A native of Nashville, TN, he was the son of the late James Blount Batson and Carolyn Crawford Batson Greer.

Mr. Batson is survived by his wife of 36 years, JoAnn Nolan Batson; sons, Scott (Kristen Averett) Batson of Murfreesboro, TN, and Jeff Batson of Nashville, TN; grandchildren Dalin Batson and Alexis Averett both of Murfreesboro, TN; brothers, Herb (Carolyn) Batson of Murfreesboro, TN, and Glen Batson of Mt. Juliet, TN.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Will Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Batson was a member of the Baptist Church, and retired from Bridgestone in LaVergne, TN
