James Levoy Bailey, age 90, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melton Oscar and Hannah Mae Bailey; brothers, Melton and Wayne Bailey; sisters, Melba Wilhoit and Betty Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Edwina Bailey; children, Stephanie Sloan, Sonya Brown, Patty Sadler, and Mike Bailey (Kim); grandchildren, Matt Sloan (Kyra), Jennifer Lowe (Jason), Susan Beaird (Brian), and Sarah Ford (Austin); numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Dewey Bailey and Joe Bailey; sisters, Christine Jarrell, Joyce Colvin, Lois Schlagel, and Cindy Taylor; and many other family and friends.

Mr. Bailey worked in insurance and retired from Life of Georgia after 35 years of service. He then spent the next 20 years buying and renovating homes in the community. He was a man that never met a stranger; helping others is what he loved to do. Mr. Bailey was a wonderful, selfless and dedicated man who always put family first. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, March 18, 2022 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel from 4:00-7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery.
