JAMES JIMMY EMORY AVARITT JR. age 54 of Murfreesboro, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday October 12, 2011. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Reverend James Avaritt Sr., Brother Jimmy Tyson, Brother Mike Norris, and Brother Jay Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Avaritt is survived by his wife of 21 years Teresa Earp Avaritt, daughter Sydney Avaritt , and beloved dog Belle , his parents Reverend James and Edwana Avaritt all of Murfreesboro, sister Janet (Russell) Paschal of Woodbury, brothers John (Paula) Avaritt of Murfreesboro, Warren Avaritt of Antioch, his three nephews Randy (Amanda) Avaritt, Brian (Brittany) Avaritt, John Robert Avaritt, a great nephew Gavin Avaritt, close in laws Paul and Denise Osadjan and family of IL., Robert and Jennifer Brown and family of N.M., and special friends Sherry and David Anglin of GA. Mr. Avaritt was a registered nurse, receiving his Masters in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, and worked at Middle Tennessee Medical Center and for the past 25 years for Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center as the manger of the Specialty Care Clinics and Urology Departments. He was a Bible Study Fellowship Childrens Leader, a Deacon, Choir Director, and a Sunday School Teacher for many years. He attended Franklin Road Baptist Church. He was a 1975 graduate of Riverdale High School and a member of the Riverdale Band. Mr. Avaritt also was an M.T.S.U. graduate and a member of the Band of Blue. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
