Jackie W. Story, age 68 of Smyrna died Sunday February 15, 2015. He was a native of Giles County and was the son of the late, Homer and Margaret Young Story, and was preceded in death by a sister Annette Story Simsoms. Mr. Story was of the Baptist faith and retired salesman having worked for Colonial Bread, Frito Lay and Ajax Turner. After retirement Mr. Story was owner and operator GrassHog Lawncare, and was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and passionately coached girls softball most all of his life. Mr. Story is survived by his wife of 40yrs. Mary Darlene Barr Story; daughter, Jaclyn Story of Smyrna, future son-in-law, Preston Ward of Hermitage; grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth Tarpley, Kaylyn Rhea Tarpley, Emaleigh Faith Tarpley all of Smyrna, Kolton Drew Garrett and Kayla Dee Garrett of Pulaski; sister, Sandra Story Sands of Pulaski; special friend, James Erwin. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Chestnut Grove Cemetery Fund in Pulaski, and American Heart Association , www.heart.org Funeral service will be 2:00PM Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Rev. Debbie Eubank and Brother Kevin Barrett will officiate. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Jones, Justin Paul, Brandon "Bubby" Dodson, Chuck Kaefor, Mike Sands, Jamie Byrd, and Peter Murphy. Visitation will be 4:00PM to 8:00PM Friday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.
