Jackie Louise Johnston age 69 of Murfreesboro, passed away Friday August 23, 2013. A native of Gibson County, she preceded in death by her father; Hollis E. Isbell Sr., grandparents; Jack and Louise Oliver, and Harry and Lois Isbell. Graveside service will be Monday at 12:30pm at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Brother W.D. Thompson officiating. Mrs. Johnston is survived by her husband of 26 years, Phillip Johnston; her mother; Mary Elena Isbell of Murfreesboro, brother; Hollis E. Isbell Jr. and his wife Barbara of Mississippi, nieces; Leslie Potts and her husband Jeff of Memphis, Angela Eck and her husband John of Kentucky, and a great-niece Edie Eck. Mrs. Johnston was a member of the Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Smyrna High School, Baptist School of Nursing and from M.T.S.U. with a degree in Psychology.She worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis as a staff nurse for 10 years, and then worked for the V.A. Hospital for 21 years in various positions until her retirement. She loved and participated in Sports and was a world traveler. Visitation will be 4:00 until 6:00pm Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
