Mr. J D Reel, age 88, of LaVergne, TN passed away Wedneday, April 3, 2019. He was born in Dayton, TN to the late Dexter B and Virgie Brown Reel. Mr. Reel worked as a general contractor. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Mr. Reel is survived by four children, Judy McMillon and her husband J.B. of Dayton, TN, Nadine Cummings of Nashville, TN, Jeff Reel and his wife Susie of Nashville, and Paula Cole and her husband Don of Nashville; six grandchildren, Jared McMillon, Samantha Olson, John Young, Jessica Sherrill, Derek Reel, and Rachel Cole; seven great-grandchildren, Adara Olson, Drew McMillon, Mia Olson, Asa McMillon, Blythe Sherrill, Daniel Young, and James Sherrill; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Reel; brother, Herbert Reel; and sister, Ava Lee Jordan.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 at 12:00noon at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Burial with Military Honors will take place Monday, April 8, 2019 at 2:00pm at Middle Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery.
