DR. J. CRAIG MARTINDALE SR., age 71 of Murfreesboro, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday September 6, 2012. A native of Hopewell, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Kelton and Syble Proctor McAlister. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Margie Martindale. Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Tuesday at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church Murfreesboro, with Reverend Tommy Jobe, Dr. Rebecca Salisbury, and Dr. Phil Sumrall officiating. Dr. Martindale is survived by his wife of 23 years, Dana Overby Martindale, son, Craig Jr. and his wife Frances Martindale of Chattanooga, daughter Kellie and her husband Jeremy Everett of Murfreesboro, step son Brian Burnette of Chattanooga, and his two grandchildren, Trip Martindale, and Allyson Everett. Dr. Martindale was the minister of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Murfreesboro. He also held rank of Captain in the Army Reserves, serving as a Chaplain and Artillary officer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church Murfreesboro,Tennessee, Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church Hopewell, Mississippi, or to the Memphis Theological Seminary. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 pm Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel and from 6:00 pm until time of service Tuesday at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church 907 East Main Street, Murfreesboro.
