J. D. "Danny" Alsup, Jr., age 72 of the Midland Community, passed away Friday July 17, 2015 at his home. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Jeptha Daniel "J. D." and Margaret Campbell Alsup, Sr. Mr. Alsup was also preceded in death by a sister, June Brewer. Mr. Alsup is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Ann Brothers Alsup; son, Danny Alsup, III of the Midland Community; sister, Joann Neely of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Daniel Alsup, IV of the Midland Community, and Jessica Danielle Alsup of Murfreesboro, TN Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Doug Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Alsup was a member of Christiana Church of Christ, but attended Midland Baptist Church with his wife. He was a US Air Force veteran, retired from General Electric in Murfreeboro, and was the owner and operator of Mid-State Battery.
