ISA LEE FREEMAN, age 97 passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mrs. Freeman was born October 8, 1913 to Charles Chester and Carrie Lee Sherrod in Lake City, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Freeman, who was owner of Freeman Furniture Store in Murfreesboro for many years. Mrs. Freeman is survived by her son Jim Freeman, and daughter Sue (Bobby) Copeland all of Murfreesboro; her grandchildren David Freeman, Lee (Eric) Robinson, Larry Porter, Laura Vaughan, and Chris (Jenny) Copeland and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Freeman began her career at MTSCs Library in the 1930s. She met Lawrence Freeman in 1937 and they were married for 66 years. She was a past member of the Womans Club and the Craddock Study Club. She was a member of the Garden Club, the Dames Club, and the Stones River Country Club Ladies Golf Association. Mrs. Freeman was a member of First Baptist Church, where she started the library and served as librarian for 64 years. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church, 200 East Main Street, Monday November 8th at 10:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Dr. Eugene Cotey and Dr. Mike Smith will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church Library, 200 East Main Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37130.
