Irene Barrett Huddleston, age 87 of Murfreesboro, formerly of Lascassas, died Saturday, January 23, 2016. A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Azilee Barrett. She was also preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, James Thomas "J.T." Huddleston, a son, Tommy Huddleston, a daughter, Paula Blackburn, a sister, Christine Paschal, and brothers, Howard, Franklin, and Robert "Toby" Barrett.

Mrs. Huddleston is survived by daughters, Jennie Towry, and Lisa Grubbs and husband Earl, all of Murfreesboro, Cora Donald and husband David of Donelson, TN; grandchildren, April Holland, Karisa Towry, Kerbi Towry, Rachel Grubbs, and Emily Donald; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Graham, Mary Pitts, Martha Sue Butner; and brothers, James Barrett, Kenneth Barrett, and Fred Barrett.

Mrs. Huddleston was surrounded by family and many friends and caregivers during her final days. Special thanks to Northside Healthcare and Alive Hospice. The family wishes to also express their gratitude to John Rohr of CareRide for the transportation to her family's home to enjoy the holidays.

Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Nick Nichols and Jim Paschal officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with nephews serving as pallbearers.
