Minnie Irene Corbitt Evans, age 85 of Murfreesboro, went to be with the Lord January 23, 2015. She was a lifelong resident of Murfreesboro and was a daughter of the late Robert and Cora Jane Corbitt. She was also preceded by a son Donald Kenneth Evans, a brother Billy Corbitt and a sister Jean Gilley. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband of 68 years, Kenneth Evans; daughters Pamela Maynard and her husband Frank of Murfreesboro, Beverly Jernigan and her husband Michael of Beech Grove, Jani Tarpley of Murfreesboro; daughter in law, Barbara Evans of Iowa; sisters, Sue Vance and her husband James of Murfreesboro and Patsy Baxter of Unionville; aunt, Marie Nipper of Murfreesboro; sisters in law, Martha Sprinkle of Florida and Ina Cooper of Tennessee; ten grandchildren, David and Mary amEnde, Frankie Maynard, Kimberly Tarpley, Jason and Robbie Maynard, Ashley Jernigan, Scarlett and Michael Freeze, Buddy and Andrea Jernigan, Jennifer Evans, Kenny Evans, Gwendolyn and Zach Ferrell; fifteen great-grandchildren, Drake Barcroft, J.D. Gunn, Kendra Maynard, Benjamin Maynard, Cheyenne Anier, Alicia Watson, Evan Gunn, Nathan amEnde, Noah amEnde, Abigail Maynard, Brienna amEnde, Garrett Maynard, Wayne Jernigan, Ashton Freeze, and Andalasia Ferrell. Visitation will be Sunday from 10:00am until the time of funeral services beginning at 12:00 noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Michael Jernigan will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen and grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
