Hugh Maurice "Bob" Swanner, age 85 of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024. A native of Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Hugh W. and Clemmie K. Killough Swanner. Mr. Swanner was also preceded in death by a brother, David Swanner.

Mr. Swanner is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria Edwards Swanner; son Christopher H. "Chris" Swanner and his wife Denice of Smyrna, TN; daughter, Angela Griffin and her husband Doug of Carrollton, GA; grandchildren, Gloria Darlene Horsley and her husband Josh of Carrollton, GA, Alyssa Terry and her husband Joshua of Smyrna, GA, Brandon Swanner and his wife Danielle of Murfreesboro, TN, and Briana Swanner of Smyrna, TN; and two great-grandchildren, Karson and Khlover Swanner.

Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM following the visitation with Pastor Aaron Minick and Rev. Leon Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Lannom Cemetery with Josh Horsley, Joshua Terry, Brandon Swanner, Jonathan Rone, Duwayne Kessler, and Rami Mustafa serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Swanner was a member of the River of Life Assembly of God, a US Army veteran, and a retired Automotive Instructor.
