Hubert H. Blackburn age 81 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Sunday May 19, 2013. He was born in Chattanooga, TN, but was raised in Athens, TN. Mr. Blackburn was the son of the late H.D. and Cloy Thompson Blackburn, and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Charlene Haney Blackburn. Mr. Blackburn is survived by his wife, Ruth McElory Blackburn; son, Richard M. "Ricky" Blackburn and his wife Gina of Grove City, PA; daughter, Laura D. Blackburn of Conyers, GA; grandchildren, Richard Blackburn, Jr. and Stevie Diane Blackburn of Grove City, PA; brother, Larry Blackburn and his wife Pat of Athens, TN. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Southeast Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Vinson and Rev. Joy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery in Bedford County with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Blackburn was a member of Southeast Baptist Church, a member of Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge # 18, and a longtime member of the Murfreesboro Lions Club, serving in many offices including Past President. He received his BS Degree from East Tennessee State University, and was a retired Oil Distributor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southeast Baptist Church Music Ministry, Murfreesboro Lions Club, or the Zion Hill Cemetery in memory of Mr. Blackburn.
