Howard Jones, age 91, of Barfield died Tuesday, April 21, 2015.Mr. Jones was a native of Rutherford County and son of the late Berlie H. and Mattie Miller Jones. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Summar Jones, and two brothers, Houston and Ed Jones. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ron Byers and Rev. Pam Pilote will officiate. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00am until time for services at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. Jones is survived by one daughter, Linda Carol Roper of Murfreesboro; one brother, Berlie Jones, Jr. and his wife Daisy of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren, Carol Bennett, Vickie Coronel, Julia Peck, and Jamie Bilbrey; six great-grandchildren, Carlos Anthony, Gabriela, Christian Coronel, Brittany and Tiffany Peck, and Evalyn Bennett. Mr. Jones was a member of the Barfield Baptist Church and was a retired Realty officer with the Department of Defense. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II.
