Obituary

CHIEF HOWARD WIGGS HOLDEN age 84 of Murfreesboro died February 1, 2012 at Adams Place. A native of Christiana, he was the son of the late Emmett and Vera Wiggs Holden. He was a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer with 29 years of service. He served in World War II, Occupied Japan, Korean War and several tours of duty in Vietnam. He also severed on 12 different Naval Destroyer Ships. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edith Holden, and his brothers Jerald L. Holden, Donald Holden, and Paul Holden, and Sisters Linda Jo Tucker, and Ellie Ruth Hum. He is survived by special friends Jesse and Linda Beasley of Murfreesboro. Mr. Holden was a sweet, loving kind gentlemen. He was a member of Third Baptist Church. A very special thanks to all the wonderful care he received from the Staff of Adams Place and Caris. Visitation will be 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel. Graveside side service with full military honors will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery. Brother F.
