Howard Isaac Chitwood, age 88 of Murfreesboro, died August 1, 2014. He was a native of Kissimmee, FL and the son of the late Rose Crans and Emma Butler Chitwood. He was also preceded in death by son, David Howard Chitwood. Mr. Chitwood is survived by his wife, Dolores Karl Chitwood, daughters, Jo Anne Chitwood of St. Croix, Virgin Islands, Jennifer McNiel of Murfreesboro, six grandchildren, Jason and James Snow, Jonathan Chitwood, Leandra Collier, Laura Peters and Jordan McNiel, seven great grandchildren, Hayden, Emily, Faith and Jason Snow, Micah Chitwood, Everett and Violet Peters. Mr. Chitwood was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and a retired officer of the US Coast Guard. Graveside service will be 2:00pm, Monday, September 15, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery with full military honors. Pastor Ralph Wyman will officiate.
