Houston William Cunningham, age 61 of Readyville, TN, died Wednesday August 14, 2013. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of Velma Robbins Cunningham of Smyrna, TN, and the late Johnnie Houston Cunningham. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lavenia Elizabeth Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham is survived by three sons, Johnnie Cunningham and his wife Sue, of Richmond, VA, Terry Cunningham and his wife Melissa, of Fredericksburg, VA, and Jesse Cunningham and his wife Darla, of Milton, TN; mother, Velma Robbins Cunningham of Smyrna, TN; mother of his children, Pamela Cunningham of Sparta, TN; brother, Darrell Cunningham of Smyrna, TN; grandchildren, Brady, Briley, Ava, Landon, Bailey, Alex, McKinnley, and Elijah Cunningham; nephew, Bradley Cunningham of Murfreesboro, TN. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, with Brothers Wayne Cornwell and Nickey Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Cunningham was a 1970 graduate of Smyrna High School and worked as a Medical Technologist in the Department of Pathology at Vanderbilt for over 35 years. Mr. Cunningham was of the Church of Christ faith.
