Horace Edward "Eddie" Woods, age 74 of Murfreesboro died peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2017. He was born on December 6, 1942 in Rutherford County to the late Horace and Sarah Woods. He was also preceded in death by brothers, James David Woods and Jimmy Woods.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bro. Darrel Whaley will officiate. Burial to follow in Rocky Glade Cemetery.

He is survived by his sons, Keith Woods and Jason Woods, both of Murfreesboro, daughter, Jenny Taylor (Dale) of Eagleville, sister, Lisa Woods Pate (Darrell) of Speedwell, TN, grandchildren, Brittany Woods, Danielle Woods, Ashley Taylor and Grant Taylor, nieces and nephew, Amber Barlow, Andrea Shackleford, Sarah Pate and Randy Pate, and his best friend that he loved like a brother, Eric Nelson.

Mr. Woods was a 1962 graduate of Eagleville High School. He was a member of the Army National Guard and had several careers, mainly as a salesman, but retired from the Nissan Plant in Smyrna.

He was a dear friend to all, and never met a stranger. He was always helping those in need and opened his home to many friends and family members. He was a vibrant man who loved his children and was so proud of his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and loved to cook, but most of all, his passion was dancing. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and former member of the Rolling Thunder Chapter 1 Tennessee.

Pallbearers are Eric Nelson, Dale Taylor, Charlie Lee, Terry Segars Sr., Jeff Duke and Chris Anderson. Honorary pallbearer will be Grant Taylor.
