HELEN GILBERT SMITH, age 97, of Murfreesboro died Saturday, September 25, 2010. She was a native of Orlinda, TN and the daughter of the late William and Pearl House Gilbert. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse L. Smith who died in 2002. Funeral service will be 1:00pm Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Murfreesboro. Dr. Larry Taylor and Dr. Michael Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Madeline and David Bridges of Nashville and Susan and Jerry Cauley of Pineville, LA; grandchildren, Rachel (Marcus) Cauley Brocato, William Jesse Cauley, Rebecca (Scott) Helen Bridges Martin, and John David Bridges; great grandchildren, Elliot Cauley Brocato, and Zoe Francesca Brocato. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church and a retired librarian from Crichlow Elementary School and Central Middle School.
