Helen Clark Powell Coffman age 92 of Kingsport, passed away Sunday January 18, 2015. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late David Clark and Lorene Williams Powell. She is also preceded in death by her husband; Thomas Walter "Dub" Coffman, sister; Edna Peel, and her brother; David "Bud" Powell. Funeral services will be 10:00am Wednesday at Short Creek Baptist Church, 9653 Short Creek Road, Christiana,Tennessee 37037 with Thomas Chad Martin and Brother Mark Rosson officiating. Burial will follow in Coffman Family Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Coffman is survived by her daughter, Wanda Moon and her husband John Jr. of Oak Ridge, Grandchildren, John Moon III and his wife Angie of Atlanta, Dr. Nicole Moon of Kingsport, Great-Grandson Samuel, special friend Dawsey (Buddy) Hood, and sister-in law Joy Martin. Mrs. Coffman was a member of Short Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Singer Corporation. She and her husband owned and operated Coffman's Grocery Store in Beech Grove in the late 1940s until the early 1960s. Visitation will be 4:00pm until 7:00pm Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
